My Thoughts:
This is the first book in the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series written by Michael Scott. I had several people tell me this series was very good and I need to read it. My local library finally got it in and I decided to check it Out.
Sophie and Josh are your everday normal twins, until Josh's boss Nicholas Flamel has a very angry visitor from his past. Joshs's seeming normal life is about to be anything but. Sophie likes working at the cafe and its conviently right across from her best friend and twin Josh's new job. Perenelle Flamel is one of her favorite customers and the wife to Josh's boss. When the bookstore that Nicholas owns and Josh works in explodes Perenelle and Sophie jump into action and Sophie is thrust into a world she doesn''t understand. Will Josh and Sophie be able to return to a normal life after being involved with Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel's magical world?
I liked this book from the start. It opened with a very good flow and momentum. I was hooked and ready to read more. I really like Perenelle, she seems smart and very much in love with Nicholas. I love the bond between Sophie and Josh, they are not ony twins but best friends! Nicholas Flamel seems like a smart man but maybe he is hiding something from everyone. I love how the gods and goddesses throughout the different regions are implanted in the stories along with there names from the different regions. I am thrilled to have also checked out book 2 & 3 of this series and am excited to add them to my list of books I love.
