Washed Up Review

Washed Up
Written by: EA Romance

Synopsis:

Leith and Abhain liked to get in trouble. They were always sneaking away from the castle. It was easy for Abhain, he wasn't royalty. Leith's father, the King, wasn't very forgiving. On one of their voyages out they found two humans they were attracted to. Abhain came up with a brilliant plan. They would wait for their molting time and touch the shore. This would give them legs for a week. They could meet the two girls and maybe have some fun. Katie and Dawn were good friends since childhood. They moved in together and created a boutique in town. They were looking for shells when they stumbled on two naked men. Their instincts said run, but their bodies said stay. They took the boys home. Dawn instantly took Abhain to bed. Katie resisted for a while but Leith looked at her in a way that no man had before. It started as innocent fun, but they all fell very quickly. Leith knew she was his forever but didn't know how to make it work. Would love be able to trump all their obstacles? Would the King forgive him?

My thoughts:

I love that this story was about a merman, normally most merpeople stories are about mermaids. I enjoy the imagery of the merpeople's tails and their eyes. I enjoyed the story which was pretty much about love and sacrifice, however it all happened really fast. I liked that the characters felt such a strong connection but the story line felt a tad rushed. This was a quick read and there wasn't any fluffing so it was pretty straight forward with the plot line. The story did leave me wanting a little more time for the charcters to bond and ultimately make the needed sacrifice but I still enjoyed it. I loved how the merpeople glowed with luminescence, each with a color that matched their tails.
