Fighting Her

Presents

New Release

Fighting Her
by Gillian Jones

AMAZON
US | UK | CA

Genre: YA Inspirational Romance

Fighting Her is a YA rockstar romance about finding not only love, but self-love, and learning you are enough no matter what.  Warning: Deals with subject matter some readers might find sensitive, Fighting Her is a YA version of Fighting Weight.

We all have that voice inside our heads.

The one that speaks to us incessantly. That voice we trust to make the right decisions, to keep us on a positive path, even when others try to bring us down.

But what happens when that voice changes?

When it's no longer a voice of reason, a voice of comfort giving us a pep talk when we need one?

What happens when that inner turns into a bully?

You're fat.
Don't you dare eat that.
You'll never be as pretty as her.
You'll never be as good as them.
You're lazy. You're stupid.
You are disgusting.
You. Are. Nothing.

What happens when that inner voice makes your body take its side?

Binge.
Purge.
Binge.
Purge.

And what happens when the bully starts to win?

If you are 18-year-old Alina Cassidy, then you fight like hell.

Avalon has always felt different and alone. The ocean, along with the friends she’s made under the water, is the only constant in her life. She comforts herself with the notion that alone is at least safe. There’s no one to hide her extraordinary abilities from, to hide her dreams of living beneath the crashing waves forever.

Then Xander comes for her, reluctantly, judging by his snarly attitude. But, attitude aside, he draws her into a fantasy world, one filled with family and friendship and … the home she’s always craved.

He gives her the smallest glimpse of perfection, only to then inform her that it’s not a world she can have. Political issues in Royale will make her time there temporary.

Her time in Royale and with Xander.

She will stay until the very end, though. If there’s one thing that she’s determined to prevent, it’s Laous getting his hands on the starslight stone. A stone which is keeping two worlds alive and functioning.

A happily ever after might not be in the cards for her, but she’s determined to make it happen for her friends.

Even if it’s the last thing she does.

A Viking's Lost Soul

A Viking's Lost Soul
Written by: T.M. Grinsley

Goodreads:

FinnFight. Kill. Erase.

That is what I have been trained to do since before I could walk. Fight anyone who steps out of bounds, kill our enemies who threaten all we built, and erase them from the face of the earth. I was addicted to the kill- until she walked into my life.
Her eyes have haunted my dreams since the moment I saw her. She is the one I need- the one who keeps the killer in me at bay.

Stephanie

No one can prepare you for the day when your parent passes away. Five years we battled cancer- and he was all that I had left. Every Wednesday night we would watch the History Channel and see what new discoveries were found all over the world.
But now that was over. It’s just me, my cat, and the endless amounts of ice cream stashed in my freezer. Until, that is, I received a letter from a distant relative saying I needed to come back home.
Without a second thought, I packed my belongings and left without ever looking back. What I didn’t expect was the six foot six god to barge into my life and shatter everything I knew...

*Not suitable for anyone under the age of eighteen
*Graphic Language
*Strong Sexual Content
*Dual POV

My Thoughts:

I love T.M. Grinsley and her books. This book definietly lived up to the awesomeness I expect from her books. I enjoyed the dual POV of this book, i also enjoyed that there were clear labels and seperation when POV was switched.

This book is about a girl with a tormented past and the viking who saved her but coukd only love her from afar. The dynamics between the characters are fantastic and you really get a feel for who these characters are. This book is also full of sexy vikings to satiate the desires of any booknerd.

Ginny Blackstone never thought she’d spend her summer vacation backpacking across Europe. But that was before she received the first little blue envelope from Aunt Peg.

This letter was different from Peg’s usual letters for two reasons:

1. Peg had been dead for three months.
2. The letter included $1000 cash for a passport and a plane ticket.

Armed with instructions for how to retrieve twelve other letters Peg wrote—twelve letters that tell Ginny where she needs to go and what she needs to do when she gets there—Ginny quickly finds herself swept away in her first real adventure. Traveling from London to Edinburgh to Amsterdam and beyond, Ginny begins to uncover stories from her aunt’s past and discover who Peg really was. But the most surprising thing Ginny learns isn’t about Peg . . . it’s about herself.

Everything about Ginny will change this summer, and it’s all because of the 13 little blue envelopes.

Brandi's Review

I found this book on the epic reads table at Barnes&Noble. Decided to bring it home because the letter/travel/adventure theme sounded very interesting and I was reading Love & Gelato. (If you've read that then you know what I mean! I had high expectations going in.

It read a little slower for me than others have. I still thought it was very enjoyable. I find myself connecting with Ginny, except I congratulate her on traveling through a foreign country basically alone and with little preparation. I wish I had the courage to do something like this. Reading about her journey through Europe was fantastic, Maureen did a wonderful job creating this adventure that is readable and interesting and made me feel like I was almost taking it too. I also, like that it wasn't a typical girl meets guy in foreign country>they fall in love and that's what the story becomes. This was not that. It was a great journey of self discovery and moving through the stages of grief to acceptance.

I gave it 4 starts only because at times it was a little slow but it was still enjoyable and I would still recommend this to everyone. Wonderful summer read and the story even continues...

Gabe is in Samir’s clutches and Liv has no earthly idea how to find him. She could kill Samir, but that’s only if she gets close enough to him and she can’t freaking do magic. But, Gabe can escape, right?

Sure.

Except, Samir finds a way to threaten Liv from afar and now Gabe has to do everything Samir asks him to. Including killing goddesses.

Brandi's Review
Everything by Kimberly Loth is amazing first off, so this is no different. It's sad to say goodbye to Liv & Gabe in this final book in the Sons of the Sands. We spend more time abroad in this one which is always exciting for me to read about different countries.

You wont be disappointed with this last installment. You wont be able to set it down. As always I cannot wait to see what Kim will make up next for us! :)

A summer in Italy turns into a road trip across Tuscany in this sweeping debut novel filled with romance, mystery, and adventure.

Lina is spending the summer in Tuscany, but she isn’t in the mood for Italy’s famous sunshine and fairy-tale landscape. She’s only there because it was her mother’s dying wish that she get to know her father. But what kind of father isn’t around for sixteen years? All Lina wants to do is get back home.

But then Lina is given a journal that her mom had kept when she lived in Italy. Suddenly Lina’s uncovering a magical world of secret romances, art, and hidden bakeries. A world that inspires Lina, along with the ever-so-charming Ren, to follow in her mother’s footsteps and unearth a secret that has been kept for far too long. It’s a secret that will change everything Lina knew about her mother, her father—and even herself.

People come to Italy for love and gelato, someone tells her, but sometimes they discover much more.

Brandi's Review
If I could give this more stars I would! I absolutely loved this book! It only took me a day, even though I wanted to take my time and really absorb Italy, Lina and Ren; I just couldn't make myself stop. I'm from the US, so I really enjoyed the change in setting with Florence, Italy. A lot happens in to Lina once she arrive to Florence in such a short time but Jenna did a wonderful job writing it so that the feelings that develop didn't feel rushed, it felt genuine.

I'm definitely telling all my friends they need to read Love & Gelato this summer! Great light summer read, it's light and funny ( I lol-ed multiple times). This book just put me in a great mood.
