My Book Boyfriend {2}

I just got done with the novella Amethyst Bound by L. Shannon and Dr. Benjamin Davis was the male lead and he was super sexy, smart and kinda dorky but that totally sold me!

Photobucket

Dr. Benjamin Davis

  • Shoulder length wavy Brown Hair
  • Tan complexion
  • Grey Eyes
  • Broad Shoulders
  • Long, lean body
  • Archaeologist
  • Obsessed with proving dragons exist

" I have no intention of leaving you. Being with you is a chance of a lifetime even without all the perks." I pulled back and wiped my face, embarrassed by tears. " What perks? Seems like being a kae'tolen is a pretty crappy job."

He dragged me back against his body, where I felt his heart and arousal. His lips claimed mine in a gentle kiss that went on and on, leaving me quivering with want. "You are the perk. Never in all my life have I met someone like you. even if amethyst hadn't carried me off the mountain, I'd still have hunted you down, and I wouldn't have done it because of your pretty scales or a disappearing artifact." I was stunned speechless. With tears still slipping from my eyes and a silly smile on my face, I grasped at his words. " But I have an evil dragon and a bunch of vampires after me..."

"So you need me. I like that feeling, I love you Toni."

My Dr. Benjamin Davis is played by Paul Walker! I imagine just about everyone knows Paul Walker.

Amethyst Bound Review

Amethyst Bound (Amethyst, #1)
Published: May 26, 2010

Goodreads Synopsis:
Toni Giovanni is a thief although she prefers to call it the high-risk recovery business. Her current job feels suspiciously easy until a mysterious artifact draws her into an ancient prophecy and binds her soul to a spirited dragon named Amethyst.

But Toni isn’t quite ready to be taken over by a dragon, even if Amethyst’s appetite for sexy archaeologist Dr. Ben Davis mirrors Toni’s own. And she’s got a big problem on her hands: turns out the prophecy predicts that dragons will end the world and there are many more dragons out there.

Toni’s going to need all the help she can get.

My Thoughts:
I Loved the imagery used to describe the details in this book, The author did amazing. I also love the characters in this story, they are different from each other but that's what makes it work. I love amethyst, she is amazing, she is just what I figure a dragon would be like! I love the story line and can only hope that the author will soon have more of this story. The only thing I didn't like was the length of this story I know it was a novella but  I wish there was more to  it cuz I loved it! I love dragons and this was an amazing story about them.

My Soul to Save

My Soul to Save (Soul Screamers, #2)
Goodreads Synopsis:
When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.
So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn't wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can't cry for someone who has no soul.
The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad's ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend's loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can't possibly understand.
Kaylee can't let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk….

My Thoughts:
I liked this book, it wasn't as good as the first one. I kinda feel like Kaylee is stupid, this book just made her seem really dense. I did like to see Tod s o Concerned for someone though. I also like the trips to the netherworld and the descriptions because there wasn't any of that in the first one. I'm also glad that Kaylee and her dad are living together and actually being a family, but I wonder about the rest of the series because as I said earlier Kaylee seems to be dense, will she ever wisen up or is she always gonna be in the dark?

The Past Came Hunting

The Past Came Hunting

Published:September 19,2011

Goodreads Synopsis:
Fifteen years ago a young Colorado Springs police officer arrested a teen runaway accused of aiding a convenience store robbery and attempted murder. She was innocent, but still served prison time briefly. Her testimony sent the real thief to jail for much longer. Now she’s a young widow raising a son, and the man she put in prison is free and seeking revenge.

She moves to a home in a new neighborhood—then learns that her next-door neighbor is the by-the-book officer who arrested her. Now he’s a Colorado Springs P.D. Lieutenant. Like it or not, he may be the only one who can protect her and her son from the past he helped create.

My Thoughts:
I liked this book. The characters were really well developed, and the story was romantic and suspenseful with a little humor mixed in. I loved the family dynamics in this story, it showed how a single mom, with a full time job as a florist takes care of her kid and then how a single dad with a full time job as a cop struggles to be there for his son and do the job he loves. I loved the fact that I felt like I really knew the characters and their values. This book kept me reading from page one, I was never bored

Destined Review

Published: October 25, 2011

Goodreads Synopsis:
Zoey is finally home where she belongs, safe with her Guardian Warrior, Stark, by her side, and preparing to face off against Neferet – which would be a whole lot easier if the High Counsel saw the ex-High Priestess for what she really is. Kalona has released his hold on Rephaim, and, through Nyx's gift of a human form, Rephaim and Stevie Rae are finally able to be together – if he can truly walk the path of the Goddess and stay free of his father's shadow…

But there are new forces at work at the House of Night. An influx of humans, including Lenobia’s handsome horse whisperer, threatens their precarious stability. And then there’s the mysterious Aurox, a jaw-droppingly gorgeous teen boy who is actually more – or possibly less – than human. Only Neferet knows he was created to be her greatest weapon. But Zoey can sense the part of his soul that remains human, the compassion that wars with his Dark calling. And there’s something strangely familiar about him…

Will Neferet’s true nature be revealed before she succeeds in silencing them all? And will Zoey be able to touch Aurox’s humanity in time to protect him – and everyone – from his own fate?

My Thoughts:
I loved the struggle within Aurox and Kalona, because it's always amazing when people change for the better. I hate the fact that Heath was involved again...he died and he should stay dead and let Zoey move on! I love Thantos' involvement with the house of night and how she tries to thwart Neferet. This Story was suspenseful but dragged a little in the beginning and of course hang a cliff hanger end that would infuriate the white bull himself! I love the focus on Rephiam and Kalona because their character flaws turned out to be their greatest strength. I love this series but kind of wish Neferet would just get defeated already and am a little concerned about the next few books and my love for them. I love the description of darkness in the book and how it is greedy and must feed of Neferet constantly in order to carry out her ill wishes. I'm satisfied with the book as a whole but like I said earlier I do worry that the whole Neferet is going to be drug out and ruin the series that I have fallen in love with.
